Violin - John Juzek An old Czech violin, John Juzek, made in Prague, c 1920-40. Red varnish over a golden base. Total length 23 5/8" Back length- 14 1/4" Good condition with playing wear. Upper back seam reglued and is stable. Some scratches. Small nick on left side of scroll. Needs your choice of strings and chinrest. Bridge fits well. Soundpost is up. John Juzek violin value label is signed and dated 1923, made in Prague. I have that fiddle, too, made in Prague by John Juzek. I paid just under $1000 for it in 1985. It's a good fiddle, very fine on the lower 2 strings, but the A string is just OK, and the E string is rather weak. I think the best you might sell it for (if you want to sell it) is maybe $2000 now.
